The FSM Consulate General in Hawaii coordinated a visit to Hilo and Kona for a delegation from the Joint Compact Review and Planning (JCRP) comprised of the JCRP Chairman Mr. Asterio R. Takesy and the Executive Director Mr. Epel K. Ilon.
The delegation met with citizens in Hilo on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Aupuni Center in Hilo.
On Saturday, September 7 the same team met with citizens in Kona at Wow Wow Park at 1:00 pm.
From the original meeting announcement:
The Consulate asks that if you live on the Big Island in these two localities that you assist in spreading the word about the visits by the JCRP delegation to Hilo and Kona and invite anyone interested to attend.
We hope citizens on the Big Island will take time to attend the meetings, most especially one convenient to your area of residence. It is a great opportunity to learn what your government has done so far to prepare our Nation and people for Compact termination including a likely re-negotiation on a successor bilateral arrangement with the United States. Moreover, it is a forum for close dialogue with the Chairman and the Executive Director of JCRP on issues of concerns as we prepare for a new and historic chapter in our Nation’s thirty-three year old history.
