With final passage of H.R. 4366 by the United States Senate on March 8, 2024, and signature by U.S. President Biden a day later, the 2023 Amendments to the Compact of Free Association have now been formally approved by both nations and will become U.S. Public Law No. 118-42.
The FSM Congress had previously approved the agreement in late 2023. The amendment text passed the U.S. House of Representatives earlier in the week as part of an omnibus appropriations bill.
